#sometimes i get so confused and even a little bit offended at people who don’t think dany would make a good ruler #are we reading the same books? watching the same show? #some fans point out that she would be a bad ruler of westeros and that others could do better #but daenerys is unique in the fact that she knows what it’s like to be at the bottom and the top #she was afraid and alone her entire childhood with no place to call home #and the power she earns after being basically sold to khal drogo is that of her own making #the khalasar that sticks with her after drogo’s death stay out of loyalty because she showed them kindness and so begins her mhysa storyline #afterwards her dragons and confidence give her power and with that power the one thing that she strives for is her people #she wants to keep them safe no matter the cost #she wants power but she thinks of the people above everything and that is why she frees the slaves in the slave cities #she can’t bare to cross the narrow sea while thinking of all the people she could have helped if only she had acted #so she does act: and it wasn’t a perfect plan and maybe she didn’t have the RIGHT to do it #but she did and her intentions were simple: helping people #people who later thank her and call her mhysa without her asking for their thanks #she wants to help people above all and that is why she will eventually be the best person fit to sit on the iron throne #she has cravings for destruction and revenge and fire and blood #but underneath it all at the end of the day she is only a young girl learning to care for the people who chose to follow her

sometimes life doesn’t give you lemons, it gives you bananas. and they start off yellow and cheerful and delicious and then you take your eyes off them for one minute and suddenly all you’ve got is a brown mushy mess gathering fruit flies on your counter…

but no matter how far gone your bananas are, you can still turn them into delicious, delicious bread.

I saw the new Star Trek yesterday! And I agree with most of your thoughts. Especially: Scotty is absolutely the best ever. That is just a fact.

Also the Spock shouting thing bugged me too. That and Uhura’s super cheesy line about Klingon. I just… no. Bad writers. No.

Also also I think Benedict Cumberbatch’s voice makes an excellent villain. The body is optional. (Although you bring up a very good point.)

#this was on my queue #and now that I see it I decided to look up how much organs are worth on the black market #if push comes to shove and I gotta fund my study abroad SOMEHOW #well… a kidney is about 262000 #where there’s a will there’s a way

To be completely honest, I love The Thirteen and a Half Lives of Captain Bluebear way more than the other Zamonia books, but they are all spectacular. (And Chrestomanci and The Name of the Wind are great too!)

You, sir, have excellent taste in books. (I’m clearly not even a little bit biased here…)

So far Captain Bluebear is by far my favorite protagonist (and the Troglotroll is just so delightful!). Mythenmenz/Yarnspinner pales in comparison, but seeing as I swoon just a little bit whenever I enter a bookstore, you can see how I might fall in love with Bookholm… And then, Nightingale is really cool in Rumo (so far, at least), and there’s something about the writing that really appeals to me, so I guess I’d have a whole lot of trouble picking my favorite book…
